The Cold War in Easter Europe created a border area between Eastern and Western called the “death strip”. During that time, the area were lightly populated with armaments, such as tanks, jeeps and heavy weaponry and also lots and lots of communist and capalist soldiers on both sides of the border.

According to a recent environmental report in the Christian Science Monitor, the ice floating in the waters of the Antartica are definitely turning thin. This might sound not like much, but when you realize that the ice in the Antartica currently slows the speed with which the continent’s inland glaciers are sliding into the sea.
