Pitch A Tent In High Winds

By Editor | March 14, 2008

If you have ever pitched a tent in high winds, you know how difficult it could be. Here are some tips you can follow to make this process a little easier.

Pitch a tent in heavy or high wind conditions
The first thing you should do is anchor the tent down before you put the poles through it.
The next thing you do is clip half the rainfly to the side of the tent that the wind is coming from, bunching it up on the ground.
Then pull it over the itself and attach the other side. You should also make note to stuff the fly into the stuff sack first and the body second, so you can remove the body without the fly taking off
in the wind.
