The Merrell Waterpro Ultra-Sport fits very snuggly to your foot. There is a series of connected straps which goes around your ankle, and when you cinch up the lace the nylon straps wraps securely around making the shoe feel like an extension of your foot. You get a natural and secure feel when walking over slippery wet terrain.
The Merrell Waterpro Ultar-Sport features a sticky rubber toe which provides toe protection and grip when using the toe area traverse terrain.
Unfortunately, this piece of outdoor gear has minimal underfoot padding which limits its dry-land capabilities. It is good for short hikes and short portages, but not suitable for long multi-day trail hiking. The Merrell Waterpro Ultra-Sport is well suited for kayakers and canoeists alike.
